A Japanese restaurant wants to show its support to men who are losing their hair due to too much stress and hard work by offering them generous discounts.

The pub, called “Otasuke” (“huge help” in English), opened earlier this month in the Akasaka district in central Tokyo, and is now offering a “balding discount” to diners who are having follicle issues.

Apparently, baldness affects 26 percent of men in Japan, and stress is one of the factors that cause it. This is one of the reasons why this pub's owner decided to do something to ease the stress accumulated at work.

A sign outside the restaurant reads, “Be bald, be proud,” and shows its full support to the “hard-working fathers losing their hair” over stressful jobs, as the owner considers that thinning hair is a “badge of honour.”

“Baldness is a very delicate issue in Japan, but in Hollywood there are a number of stars who completely ignore their hairless state and proudly carry out their work,” owner Yoshiko Toyoda said, according to Daily Mail. “I thought it would be nice to foster that spirit here.”

The eatery serves grilled chicken on skewers and stewed tripe at low prices, and the balder customers are in a group, the greater the discount the diners receive. As such, one bald customer in the group means 500 yen ($5/€3.64) off the total bill, two bald customers save the group 750 yen ($7/€5), and so on.
