The Japanese market has seen another good week at retail, with the Nintendo DSi handheld continuing to see an increase in sales over the PlayStation Portable from Sony just as the dual launch of Pokemon Black and White continues to lead the video games chart.

The DSi is the biggest seller of its family of hardware despite not being the most advanced, and has managed to shift 49,411 units to gamers, which is more than 2,000 more than it managed during a very good previous week.

The PlayStation Portable also saw a boost in sales, going from 29,866 to 37,576 as it managed to jump up one place to second spot when threatened by the LL version of the DSi, which comes with two cameras and a bigger screen, managing to actually improve its own tally from 31,254 to 32,777.

The PlayStation 3 continues to sit in fourth spot, with sales that have slightly declined to 20,694 while the Nintendo Wii home console has seen an increase of more than 2,000 units to 16,908 to keep steady in fifth spot.

In the lower half of the hardware chart the DS Lite managed to sell better than the Xbox 360, which has come down of its Halo: Reach fueled high, the PlayStation 2, and the PSP Go, which managed the negative record of selling less than 1,000 units yet again.

The video game chart has been again dominated by Pokemon Black and White, which moved 828,580 copies to gamers in its second week on sales on its main market, while second spot was captured by Black Leopard: A new Tale of Yakuza from SEGA for the PSP, which in its debut week only managed to sell 174,213 units.

Third spot has gone to Wii Party from Nintendo, with sales of 43,077 in seven days, coming up to places from fifth, while fourth place went to the newly launched Durarara!! 3-way Standoff from ASCII Media Works, with 21,566 units sold.

Fifth place went to Monster Hunter Diary: Pokapoka Ailu Village, followed by Front Mission: Evolved, Shin Koihime Musou: Otome Ryouran Sangokushi Engi – Wu-Hen, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force and Winning Post 7 2010.
