The Nintendo 3DS LL handheld has seen a precipitous drop in its overall sales numbers, while the newly launched Little Battlers eXperience W has managed to dominate the video game chart on the Japanese market, according to data from Media Create.

The Gematsu cited numbers show that the LL version of the 3DS, which offers players a bigger screen and more battery life, has seen its overall sales drop from 52,079 during the previous seven-week period to just 37,785, but still managed to keep the number one position in the hardware chart.

The normal 3DS has also seen a decline, but a smaller one, managing to move 22,447 devices after sitting on sales of 27,221 during the previous week, while the PlayStation 3 home console from Sony keeps the third position it enjoyed last year, with sales coming in at 21,354, down about 5,000 units over the previous week.

The older PlayStation Portable handheld continues to perform better than its cousin, the Vita, managing to sell 15,565 to the 6,791 of the newer device.

The Wii is continuing its slow decline ahead of the launch of the Wii U from Nintendo, but it is still ahead of the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PS2 and older versions of the DSi.

Little Battlers eXperience W tops the software chart, managing to move 77,457 copies on the PlayStation Portable during its first week on sale, while second spot once again belonged to Resident Evil 6 from Capcom, which moved another 42,234 units to players in order to get over 700,000 total.

The last place on the podium belongs to Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, from Square Enix, with sales of 41,430 during its second week.

The rest of the top ten includes: FIFA 13 World Class Soccer, World Soccer Winning Eleven 2013, New Super Mario Bros. 2, The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki Evolution, Little Battlers eXperience W, Wagamama Fashion Girls Mode Yokubari Sengen and Run For Money: Flee From the Strongest Hunters in History.
