The Nintendo-made 3DS LL handheld has managed to jump back to the top of the Japanese hardware chart even if the overall sales for the device dropped, while New Super Mario Bros. 2 has also managed to lead the video game chart once again.

The 3DS has managed to move 38,913 units during the seven-day period, which is a decline from the 44,951 of the previous week, while the older DS has also seen a decrease in sales, going from 29,342 to 25,246.

Third place in the hardware chart was occupied by the PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony, which has seen the biggest drop of the week and came down to 14,106 devices sold after managing to deliver more than 50,000 during the previous tracked period.

The PlayStation 3 home gaming console has also seen a decline, going from 12,433 to 11,813, while the older PSP is under the 10,000 mark for the first time in weeks.

The Nintendo Wii sold 6,958 devices during the week, while the PlayStation 2 has moved more units than the Xbox 360, the DSi LL and the normal version of the older Nintendo handheld.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the new leader of the software chart, which has managed to sell 39,708 copies during the week and second place was taken over by a new launch, Lost Heroes for the 3DS from Namco Bandai, with sales of 32,504 units.

The last position on the podium was occupied by another new release, the PlayStation 3 version of Max Payne 3, with sales of 24,264.

The rest of the top ten includes: Pokemon Black 2 & White 2, Hatsune Miku Project Diva F, Lost Heroes, Gekiatsu!! Pachige-Damashi Max Evangelion 7 x Seimei no Kodou, Tousouchuu: Shijou Saikyou no Hunter-Tachi Kara Nigekire!, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers and Dragon Quest X.
