Singer Janet Jackson and boyfriend Wissam Al Mana have been married for months now, reports say.

According to US Magazine, 46-year-old Jackson’s wedding to the 37-year-old billionaire has been kept a secret since 2012. In December last year, they even let the press know that they were engaged, adds MTV.

Emirates 247 reported at the time that the event was planned to be “one of the biggest, most memorable extravaganzas in recent history,” costing over $20 million (€15.2 million). The wedding was rumored to be celebrated according to Muslim tradition.

“Wissam is going to splash big when he marries Janet. It's going to be the wedding of the century,” a friend told reporters.

Apart from inheriting great family wealth, Janet’s now husband manages Al Mana Retail. The company has shares in Saks Fifth Avenue in Dubai and represents A/X Armani Exchange in the Middle East.

The couple have been dating since 2010, and Janet never wears her 15 carat diamond ring in public, a source mentioning that she is afraid to lose it.

“She's afraid it will get lost, so she keeps it locked up!” the insider says.

The pair have announced their marriage in a statement issued on Monday, February 25.

“The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.

“Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children’s charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet,” they describe, in a report by ET Magazine.

The star is reportedly eager to start a family with Al Mana, and cannot wait to have children.

“She wants kids. […] If she can't have them, she will adopt,” a source notes.
