The scandal that broke when Jamie Lynn Spears, who was just 16 at the time, graced the cover of US weeklies to announce she was pregnant with boyfriend Casey Aldridge is hard to paint in words. That was almost two years ago and, in the meantime, the two kept their relationship strong, even moving in together in the same house to take care of their young family. Until just recently, People magazine has learned.

Jamie Lynn is no longer sharing the same house with Aldridge, having moved out and taken daughter Maddie back home, with her mother. They broke up about six months ago and, as per ongoing reports, the younger Spears sibling is already moving on, having found love again in the arms of a businessman. This comes after many months of speculation as to whether the two would ever tie the knot and legally form a family – as it turns out, they won’t.

“Jamie Lynn Spears and boyfriend Casey Aldridge have split, according to sources close to the couple, and the former Nickelodeon star is now moving on in a new relationship with Hammond, La., businessman James Watson. ‘She’s going through a lot of changes,’ says a Spears family friend. ‘It has been painful. She’s a young mother and struggling in a lot of areas.’ Spears moved out of the Liberty, Miss., house she shared Aldridge and their 19-month-old daughter, Maddie, about six weeks ago and is now living with her mother, Lynne,” People magazine writes, after talking to unnamed sources and doing some digging.

Apparently, though constantly claiming otherwise, Aldridge continued to refuse to grow up and take responsibility for the new life Jamie Lynn was trying to build with him and their daughter. The split came naturally, though that didn’t make it any less painful, sources explain, but, luckily, the 18-year-old star is already en route to getting her personal life back on track with the 28-year-old businessman. He, on his part, would not comment for People on the rumored romance, as neither would Aldridge himself.

“After a wreck last April that landed Aldridge in the ICU after he crashed his truck, a family source told People that Aldridge was ‘thinking a little more seriously about things.’ Still, a wedding never materialized. ‘She did a lot of growing up but he didn’t,’ says a source. ‘I think she put up with more than she cared to put up with. She just got enough of it and was tired of the situation’,” the same publication further informs.
