Activision Blizzard, the biggest third-party videogame publisher in the world, has really had a full day. The company presented its financial results, showing conflicting data to investors by posting an increase in revenue coupled with a loss of 72 million dollars, and it also detailed plans related to the release of games in 2009. Yes, there will be more Guitar Hero, a new DJ Hero, and Modern Warfare 2 is set to be launched this year. Still, some titles will not make it in the 2009 release schedule.

One of the bad pieces of news gamers get is that the next James Bond movie is set to be delayed until 2010. The game is not well detailed at the moment. All we know, from leaks coming within Activision, is that James Bond will be featured in a game less centered on roof top chases but rather on racing.

The title is developed by Bizarre Creations and the studio is also expected to show off a new racing franchise later in the year, which shares the game engine with the new James Bond flick. The game is said to be delayed because Activision wanted to avoid any chance that it would arrive in the same period as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Meanwhile, Activision confirmed that a new Wolfenstein game is coming this year. The original title in the series is considered one of the first true first person shooters and established some of the rules of the genre.

Now, the id Software franchise is being revived for younger gamers by Raven Software. The game is set to arrive on the Xbox 360 and on the PC and we're hoping that the series gets a quality re-boot, after some fairly weak outings in 2008. Raven Software should also release a shooter, called Singularity, later in the year for the PlayStation 3, the PC and the Xbox 360.
