Activision has unveiled the latest entry in the James Bond video game franchise, James Bond 007: Blood Stone. The title is being developed by Bizarre Creations, the studio behind the Project Gotham Racing series and, most recently, the critically acclaimed Blur. This is not a movie tie-in, but an original project that Bruce Fierstein, a well-known Bond scriptwriter, has especially created to be an interactive experience.

More importantly, Joss Stone will be the Bond girl for the digital version of the famous British secret agent and has also provided the musical score of James Bond 007: Blood Stone. The main song is called “I’ll Take it All” and it is written and performed by her and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics exclusively for the game. She has provided her likeness for one of the main characters, alongside Daniel Craig for Bond and Dame Judi Dench for M. Activision has also released a trailer that showcases the intro of this new installment in the Bond franchises, created in the signature style of the movies.

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond,” said David Pokress, head of marketing for licensed properties, Activision Publishing. “In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3 and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

The game itself is the usual cover-based third person shooter that will also feature hand-to-hand combat and vehicles sequences on water and land. There will be many locations around the world featured in the title, including Athens, Monaco and Bangkok. A multiplayer component was also announced that will allow 16 Bond fans to engage in various modes involving spies and mercenaries. Activision has not mentioned any release date for the moment.
