British singer James Arthur is currently going through a fall from grace as he is reported to have been fired by a fuming Simon Cowell from his label Syco after he included some terrorist references in the lyrics of one of his latest songs.

Arthur has been one of the revelations on the British talent show X Factor and, after completing the show, went on to sign with the music mogul, although there have been some tensions right from the start.

The Mirror claims that Simon was appalled by the lines in one of James' songs that read “I am going to blow your family up like I am a terrorist.” This seems to have been the last straw for Cowell, a man who is not known for his good temper nor his patience.

This means that Arthur, who has only made one album with Simon's label, will have to look for work elsewhere. But it could be that he's better off working with another team, because his collaboration with Simon has been tense, to say the least.

The singer has also been involved in several scandals since going on to fame after winning the talent show in 2012. There's been some serious blow to his reputation after he went in numerous online rows with people, getting into shady scandals about prior affairs and also that bit where he's been accused of being a homophobe.

All of these scandals did little to help his career and he seemed to be constantly at odds with Syco bosses who were forced to warn him time and time again to clean up his act. But Arthur didn't seem to back down from any fight.

Last week, for example, he made his frustrations public by blasting Simon Cowell on Twitter: “@SimonCowell I should ‘shut up and put out records or else this?’” Insiders with the label claim that Arthur has been causing his career a lot of damage with his attitude.

“It seems James is self destructing. He has done himself no favors with his outbursts. It’s as if he’s almost willing Syco to drop him,” says an insider.

On the latest terrorist claims, James defends his material by saying that the lyrics were taken out of context and that the song “Follow the Leader,” where the controversial lyrics can be found, is written from the point of view of a demented fan, much like Eminen's “Stan.”

But that didn't stop people from the label to blast him unofficially, “It was idiotic for him to invoke images of suicide bombers. No matter what the context.”
