14 DAY TRIAL // A few days ago, word got out that Jake Gyllenhaal had been rushed to the hospital after losing his cool on set and breaking a mirror with his fist during a scene. He confirmed the reports the other night at the 2013 Governors Ball.

Jake is now shooting for “Nightcrawler” in Los Angeles, in which he plays a crime reporter desperate to land a story that can put him on the map. Insiders on set said that, during one emotional scene, he got so carried away that he punched the mirror he was looking in and it broke.
As per the same sources, he required several stitches on the injured hand, but he returned to work that same day, even though he’d already been pulling an 18-hour shift.
Jake also lost a lot of weight for the role because, he told reporters a while back, he wanted the character to appear hungry, both figuratively and literally.
