Jake Gyllenhall and Sports Illustrated model Alyssa Miller are unofficially done. At least, according to sources from Us Magazine that say they've decided to each go their separate ways after just six months.

It looks as though the reason for the breakup is they busy schedules and heavy workload. “They fizzled out. It happened a while ago – before the holidays,” an insider reveals.

Another source close to the couple gives further information saying, “Things were really good between Jake and Alyssa right up until he had to leave for L.A. to go shoot a movie in the fall. Then the distance just really got to them.”

The 33-year-old actor has started filming for the movie “Nightcrawler” that sees him portray a struggling, freelance crime reporter that gets involved with the LA underground crime world. It is believed that Jake was actually very much into Alysa but not seeing her for long periods of time took its toll on their relationship.

The same spies confirm that, while Alyssa was the kind of girl that was looking for a long term relationship, Jake wasn't exactly into the whole “forever after” thing. Gyllenhall has a long history of dating gorgeous women so it's only natural that he wouldn't want to be tied down for a long period of time.

He's been previously linked to Taylor Swift, with whom he had a short fling in 2010, to Kirsten Dunst who was his girlfriend from 2002 until 2004 and, most famously, with Reese Witherspoon with whom he shared a longterm relationship until 2009.

Jake and Alyssa reportedly met for the first time last year at the gym. They hit it off, and decided to become a couple. Now, Allysa is just another name on Jake's long list of exes. An official confirmation of the split hasn't been made yet.
