“The Cuckoo’s Calling,” a mystery novel written by Robert Galbraith, has been out in stores since April but, as the ABC News video report embedded below notes, it hardly registered with readers.

Since hours ago, when J.K. Rowling was revealed as the real author of the novel, it’s turned into a bestseller.

The discovery was made by a journalist from The Sunday Times who, knowing Rowling’s desire to write under a pseudonym “to see what critics really thought” of her work, found too many similarities between the mystery novel and “Harry Potter” to ignore them.

Upon further investigation, he also found out that Rowling and Galbraith shared the same literary agent.

In the end, he unmasked Rowling as the author of the book, which is now a huge hit with her “Harry Potter” fans.
