Work on the upcoming Episode 7 of the “Star Wars” franchise is moving along nicely. Fans will be pleased to hear that writing the script for the film has just been completed, director J.J. Abrams has confirmed.

During a discussion at the TCA winter press tour, Abrams uncovered the current status for “Episode 7.” He also gave details on the filming schedule which is set to start in May in England, “That's the current plan. We're working really hard and we've got our script and we're in deep prep. Full Steam ahead.”

The director was also asked about some casting choices and he confirmed that actor Jesse Plemons from the hit series “Breaking Bad” was one of the actor that was being considered for the lead role.

When asked about the plot of the film, Abrams apologized that he couldn't address the issue just yet, hinting that work on the script is still very fresh.

News of the next “Star Wars” film are very scarce these days but also in high demand. With J.J. Abrams at the helm, fans are expecting a totally different view than in the last episodes which many consider of having departed from the original line of the franchise.

“Star Wars Episode 7” is billed for release on December 18, 2015, with two more episodes being announced for 2017 and 2019.
