According to its website, FCC has approved the iTunes phone from Motorola. The phone was announced for the first time last year in July and the first rumor about an imminent launch started this year during CeBit 2005.

Unfortunately, it seems that Apple and Motorola have failed to agree on marketing strategy and the launch didn't happened.

But now The FCC's Website contains a user manual for the Motorola E790 GSM phone, also known as ROKR that describes iTunes software capabilites. "iTunes is a software application you use to manage the music on your computer and transfer music to your phone," the manual says.

Apple Insider has more details and according to the documentation, users of the E790 will be able to launch iTunes via a physical 'iTunes' key and then use the navigation key to operate the software.

From the iTunes menu interface, pressing the navigational key up or down will scroll through playlists, while pressing the key right or left will make a selection or return to the previous menu, respectively. Motorola E790 will include stereo speakers, removable flash memory, Bluetooth.

Last week, Nokia denied that Nokia N91 which is expected at the end of the year will be iTunes compatible.

Beside Nokia N91, the first mobile phone with a 4GB hard drive, Motorola E790 will have to compete also against Sony Ericsson w800i Walkman phone.
