Since Google's Street View technology was published on the web, there were lots of speculations concerning the cars used to shoot pictures around the world. As you probably know, the Mountain View-based company has used multiple cars equipped with all kinds of high-end equipments in order to take high-resolution photos around the globe. The cars were driven in a certain city all day long while the cameras mounted on the roof captured the pics.

Some of you said that Google's Street View car was a Volkswagen Beetle because lots of people spotted such a vehicle in certain areas of the world. Other stated that Google has used multiple Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles and even made photos with the cars.

However, along with the implementation of Street View in Google Earth, some new information concerning the cars used to shoot the pictures were disclosed. As you can see in the pictures posted at the end of the article, there's a new Google car to be placed on the speculation list as there is neither Chevrolet nor Volkswagen Beetle. Unfortunately, there's not much to admire in the pics because the cameras are mounted on the roof and all you can see is actually the front and the rear side of the car.

Although I believe it's surely an American car since we're in San Francisco, I highly doubt anybody can guess what vehicle it is, unless he's one of those fanatics guys who would prefer to sleep in their car instead in their bedroom. However, Google has used the same brand for all the San Francisco Street View photos because the same car can be spotted in both red and black colors. So, if any of you can give more info on this, feel free to post it.
