Google has already scheduled an event for this date

Google has already scheduled an event for October 15, which is only one day from now. However, if you’re thinking the company plans to announce the next Nexus smartphone, you might be disappointed.

Sources close to the matter claim Google will in fact unveil the Nexus 9 tablet, which will be manufactured by HTC this time. The tablet’s picture has already leaked online last week along with some of its specs.

The interesting thing is that Google has decided to launch the Nexus 9 table just one day ahead of Apple’s iPad event, which is scheduled for October 16. Rumor has it that the Cupertino company will announce the iPad Air 2, which is … a tablet.

It seems rather unusual for these companies to have events scheduled so close to each other. However, there’s always the chance that this might be just as coincidence.

Google did not know that Apple is going to reveal its iPad Air 2 tablet in October until last week probably and did not have the time to change its already scheduled event.

All in all, it’s pretty clear that we will have two major launch events over the course of two days. What we would really like to know is whether or not Google will up the notch by a lot and make the Nexus 9 tablet event one of the most important for the year.

Google may turn tomorrow's event into the biggest product launch of the year

There might be a chance that Google will also announce the Nexus 6 during the same event tomorrow, as the search giant did not announce any other plans for what is left of this month.

Numerous reports in the market claim Google will launch its next Nexus flagship smartphone, along with the Android L sometime this month.

Based on previous experience, the possibility of Google launching a tablet and a smartphone during the same event is very slim. Last year, for example, the second-generation Nexus 7 was launched a few months ahead of Nexus 5, which was unveiled on October 31.

Still, this was the first year that Google actually let developers and fans have a taste of what’s to come in the software department. The search giant released the Android L developer preview back in the summer, so that developers can tune in their app to be compatible with the new Material Design look.

There is a chance for Google to launch the Nexus 6 tomorrow, even if it’s a slim one. If that won’t happen, then we will most likely see the smartphone being unveiled in later October, as usual. What do you think is going to happen tomorrow during Google’s Nexus 9 event? Is there going to be a Nexus 6 reveal as well?
