The English media will better get a closer look in their own backyard

What is this about Cristiano Ronaldo eliminating England by himself? Are we that naive to even think of that? I mean, all the guy did was go to the referee and explain what Rooney did to one of his teammates. We've all seen the video replays. We say how Wayne stepped over the Portuguese. So why was Ronaldo's gesture so wrong? And why couldn't Rooney just stay calm for a few seconds? We all saw that the referee was not going to show him the red card until he pushed Ronaldo. It would be fairer to say that Rooney eliminated England rather than Ronaldo.

But the English media seems to be blinder than ever. I mean... come on! Are you that desperate to look for explanations elsewhere, when you have the best proof just in front of your eyes? I mean, sure, you were all expecting incredible things for Rooney and considered him the new "God of Football". As for me, I think you're just flattering yourselves. But that's not what this is about. We're talking about a player's right to talk to a referee without being pushed around.

So what if he winked at his teammates on the bench? It wasn't like he meant to get Rooney out. And even if he did, is that so wrong when talking about a World Cup quarterfinal? Do I really have to remind you the lack of fair-play from English players when Sven Goran Eriksson's team played Ecuador in the first knockout round?

I just can't believe how much the English media hates Rooney right now. And not just one word against Rooney. Are you people that blind? I bet at least one English supporter thinks about how wrong Rooney's gesture was. So why doesn't the media realize it? I also know that it's easier to hit somebody from the outside than one of your own. But Rooney's attitude on the field is no news for the English media. He has continuously ignored refereeing for the past 2 years, and received more red cards in the Premiership than any other striker.

And what has it come to? To Ronaldo leaving the Manchester United club. So one of the biggest clubs in the world is willing to give him away just because the fans are angry. Well, do I need to remind you what happened to David Beckam? Let's hope the history will repeat itself in this case. Still, his competition with Rooney - a true God at Old Trafford - might be a little to much for Ronaldo to bear. So, you know what? The hell with it... just go to Real Madrid. It's better for you as a talented young player and for the English media, who will have something to regret for the next 10 years.
