ITdevcomics might provide the answer

Is Microsoft comical? I guess that the answer is a matter of perspective, but the Redmond company has debuted a new initiative that might just ensure a nook among the heavyweights of comedy. While gearing up for the imminent release of Windows Server 2008, ITdevcomics is bound to give IT professionals and developers a little something-something to keep them occupied. And if not that, at least a chance to make comic book history with their own stories.

"More and more product groups here at Microsoft are starting to understand the power of communities, social networking and viral. You could argue that we've been good at viruses for a while but lets not go there. Meantime though, the http://www.itdevcomics.com/ launched recently to celebrate the IT Pro heroes and it will have a series of cartoons that will be created from user submissions," stated Steve Clayton, from Microsoft International - Software + Services.

The ITdevcomics website is a joint project of Microsoft and Seagate with the participation of Avalanche Comics Entertainment. In the context of the Heroes Happen Here, Windows Server 2008 launch event on February 27, 2009 in Los Angeles, Microsoft is looking for IT stories that it can translate into a daily web comic. All you have to do is put your facts together as a casual story and head over at the ITdevcomics website in order to share it with the Redmond company.

"Write about how you, your team, or your company were heroes because of how you used IT or programming to save the day (or the year or the entire space-time continuum on every plane of reality!). Stories can take place anywhere, at any time, and be dramatic, funny, poignant, bitter-sweet, happy, adventurous, cerebral -- any type at all! Stories that really happened are encouraged? but if you have a great imaginative tale to tell, such as fantasy, sci-fi or historical "What If?" adventure, give it a try. The only condition: the stories must center around IT/Dev," reads "the tell us {your story}" invitation.
