Good news for comic book and game enthusiasts, as the two branches of the entertainment industry are getting closer and closer. As of today, SEGA has secured the rights for developing an Iron Man game.

This comes as a result of an agreement signed between SEGA and Marvel Comics. SEGA now has exclusive rights to develop and publish an Iron Man game or two. The publisher announced that an Iron Man game will be developed for next-gen consoles (maybe the PS3).

If you didn't already know, Iron Man is a FICTIONAL character from Marvel. He was created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Jack Kirby back in 1963, when he was featured in Tales of Suspense.

What is special about Iron Man is that he possesses an armor that gives him superhuman strength, invulnerability, the power of flight and an impressive range of weapons. This is worn by its inventor, Tony Strark, an American billionaire. The Iron Man character was first meant as an anti-communist hero and later was turned into a more complex individual having a background story.

An Iron Man movie was also planned, first meant to be released in 2005, then rescheduled for 2006 and then for 2007 (make up your mind already). Finally, the movie rights expired, so the production was canceled.
