Up until now, Iomega has come up with quite a few multimedia and storage devices and now, the company's back with an entire new series of products from this category, namely the ScreenPlay DX HD Media Player series.

According to Iomega, the new line of products will include three different types of Full HD multimedia players, namely the ScreenPlay TV Link DX, which has no onboard hard drive, and the Iomega ScreenPlay DX HD Media Player with either a 1TB or 2TB onboard hard drive each, used for storing quite a serious amount of content.

And since we're reached this topic, we'll also have to mention that the new media players from Iomega are compatible with quite an impressive array of file formats, including here H.264, DivX WMV and RMVB, while in the same time being DLNA certified, which means that they won't have any trouble streaming content found on storage devices across one's home network.

Naturally, in order to cater to such streaming duties, all of the three new products are Wi-Fi ready (meaning that that they support the addition of a Wi-Fi USB dongle), which offers them wireless access both to the home network and to the Internet, users being able to easily browse to their favorite web pages or services with the help of the QWERTY remote control included in the sales package.

As expected, they also offer plenty of physical connectivity interfaces, including two USB ports (that can also be used for adding extra storage devices), plus HDMI and composite video and optical audio outputs, that should work quite fine with older TVs as well.

Moving on to pricing and availability, we'll have to mention that all of the three new HD media players from Iomega are available for purchase as we speak, the Iomega ScreenPlay DX HD Media Player selling for $229.99 (the 1TB model) and $299.99 (the 2TB model), respectively, while the Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link DX HD Media Player is also available worldwide for $149.99.
