March 18, 2009 will be synonymous with the introduction of the new Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit for social websites. March 18 is also the first day of MIX09, the Redmond company's Internet-centric conference in Las Vegas. This year, the Messenger web platform will be showcased in no less than three sessions, the first of which is designed to demonstrate how to bridge Windows Live Messenger with social networking websites.

“We are really excited to let you know we will have, not one, not two, but three sessions featuring the Messenger web platform at the Mix09 conference this week in Las Vegas,” revealed Keiji Kanazawa, program manager, Windows Live Messenger Contacts and Messenger Platform. At Mix, we will be introducing the new Messenger Web Toolkit, covered in the following sessions: <3 the New Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit for Social Websites, A Shot of Windows Live Messenger and a Pint of Microsoft Silverlight, [and] Five Killer Scenarios for the Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit.”

In the introduction of the Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit, Microsoft is essentially planning to showcase the addition of instant messaging capabilities to a website by leveraging the Windows Live Messenger Library in combination with UI Controls. In the software giant’s vision, the instant messaging social capabilities can be tapped in order to evolve the relationships between users built on the content available.

Via the Five Killer Scenarios for the Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit session, Microsoft aims to offer web developers a perspective over how to make websites more engaging. Of course the answer is the integration of the Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit. At the same time, MIX09 will be the place for a demo of the integration between the Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit and Microsoft Silverlight.
