At the 2010 Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Microsoft introduced the companion to its Arc Mouse, namely the Arc Keyboard. The images included with this article are illustrative of the choice in terms of style Microsoft Hardware has made with the new peripheral product. The Arc Keyboard is clearly related to the Arc Mouse, both in terms of product branding, as well as design. And just as it was the case for the Arc Mouse, the Arc Keyboard is also addressed at a consumer segment formed of mobile users.

Customers that will buy the Arc Keyboard are bound to enjoy the same range of characteristics they expect out of all mobile devices, Microsoft promises. The keyboard is low weight, features a subtle, ergonomic design, and is extremely compact, measuring just over 30 cm in lengths and approximately 15 cm in width. According to the company, the Microsoft Keyboard Arc is expected to be available for a suggested retail price of $80.

"Design surrounds us today and one of the key factors in the selection of consumer electronics. Arc Keyboard combines simple clean design and practical functionality you need in daily work and constant carrying, "noted Michael Kral, a marketing specialist Home and Entertainment division of Microsoft, via GDN. "The Arc Keyboard is much more than just a keyboard, it’s perfect fashion accessory.”

Here are some of the features enumerated by Microsoft:

“- Clean lines and eye catching shape - Show it off with an eye-catching shape that complements your style. - Lightweight and Compact - Works here, there and everywhere. - Stowable Nano Transceiver - Leave the transceiver plugged into your PC, or stow it in the keyboard. - 2.4 GHz Wireless - Be free with wireless technology. - Battery Life Indicator - Glowing light tells you when battery is low. Press function + escape to easily turn the keyboard on and off.”
