Intrinsyc Software announced that it has completed the production release of Soleus version 1.0. Demonstrated at the 3GSM World Congress in February 2006, the Soleus product is a turnkey software platform that leverages Microsoft Windows CE to enable faster, lower-cost consumer handset development.

"A key element of the Soleus platform is the flexibility and customization capability it brings to mobile phone manufacturers as they respond to industry pressures to deliver feature-rich handsets to market faster," said Glenda Dorchak, CEO and Chairman of Intrinsyc. "The timely release of Soleus version 1.0 is critical to support our current and future licensees in their plans to deliver feature-rich handheld devices to the marketplace as the services of 3G networks begin to ramp up."

As a 'turnkey' software solution, Soleus comes pre-integrated with all the telephony essentials, delivering cost and time savings for handset manufacturers. Soleus version 1.0 delivers GSM pre-certification and a comprehensive suite of built-in consumer phone applications including alarm, calculator, calendar, call history, camera, contacts, dialer, media player, phone settings, SMS and theme manager that can be quickly tailored to reduce the time to market of the end product. In addition to built-in applications, Intrinsyc partners with third-party independent software vendors to deliver email, browser, multimedia messaging (MMS) and predictive text services to manufacturers.

Version 1.0 of the Soleus platform also includes a number of recently integrated mobile phone applications such as handwriting and voice dialing functionality by Nuance Communications; gaming products by Implicit Software Solutions; a comprehensive list of optimized codecs by InterVideo that enable the playback of popular audio and video files, as well as the compression of recorded audio and video.

Intrinsyc has integrated its Soleus mobile phone software product with the Intel PXA 270, Freescale i.MX31 and TI OMAP 730/850 multimedia applications processors to facilitate rapid mobile phone design.
