Shortly after Micromax launched its first 4G LTE smartphone available in India, the Canvas Knight 2, Intex announced its own first 4G Android phone is now available for purchase.

Customers can now purchase the Intex Aqua 4G+ in India for just Rs 9,499 ($150 / €135) outright, which is a good price considering the phone's specs.

Those interested in acquiring this handset will be pleased to know that 4G LTE support is not the only strong point of the Aqua 4G+.

For example, the smartphone ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the boxes and packs a decent quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor.

Also, the Aqua 4G+ sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and offers dual-SIM support.

The quad-core CPU is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Support for 21 Indian languages and Lollipop make it appealing enough

On the back, Intex Aqua 4G+ features a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

Intex also confirms that the smartphone comes with support for no less than 21 Indian languages and that it features some of its own software tweaks such as power saving mode and live camera filters.

“At Intex, we are happy to now beckon a huge leap in its product portfolio by offering enhanced specifications and features in the newly launched Aqua 4G+ that simply caters to the fast emerging technological necessities in the market at a remarkable price.

“This innovative product comes across as a package of smart designing, tactical pricing and youthful colors all packaged for our target consumer,” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business head, Intex Technologies.
