Interpol officials reveal that Dominican Republic authorities managed to apprehend a number of six individuals, two of which minors, suspected of being hackers part of the Anonymous community.

The arrests are a result of Operation Unmask, an initiative supported by the Interpol, which targets hackers worldwide.

This is not the first time when Operation Unmask is a success. Back in February, a number of 25 hackers were detained in countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Spain.

The latest arrests are a result of the cyberattacks launched by Anonymous hackers against the websites owned by the Dominican Republic’s government and by various international organizations.

In February, when the 25 individuals were arrested, Anonymous representatives accused Interpol of infiltrating their ranks in order to learn the suspects’ real identities.
