International appeal

I think that you're all tired of hearing bad news on things going on over the web, but at long last, here is something good the web is being used for. The Interpol decided this is a very severe case and they are doing everything they can to nab this guy - it's about a pedophile that has been abusing children from Cambodia and Vietnam. As if it weren't enough for those kids that they have to live in those poor countries, they also got abused by this beast!

The criminal appears in about 200 pictures while abusing little children - his face was distorted with what photoshoppers would call a "whirlpool effect". Fortunately, Imaging specialists at Germany's Federal Criminal Investigation Office have used special software to make the image clear once again. This is just another example of how good cyber-means of tracking down crime are! The photo is still somewhat blurry, but I think that identifying him wouldn't be too hard.

I, for one am sick of hearing how the web is used for a lot of nasty stuff and how people are abusing software for crime. I'm glad that the Interpol has decided to spread this on the web and also prove that computer programs can be used to shed a lot of light on real life crime cases!

This is a link to the official Interpol page, where you can get more information on this monster, and where you can also report anything that you know about him. Though the Interpol has about 186 national bureaus, they're still not able to catch this guy, so help is welcomed. However, they've stated:

'We are certainly not encouraging members of the public to take any direct action themselves, particularly since any positive identification would need to be confirmed by law enforcement authorities but if anyone recognizes this person, or has any information that could help investigators, please contact the police or INTERPOL National Central Bureau in your country.'
