F-Secure experts have analyzed a suspicious online store

Security experts from F-Secure warn that a large number of scam websites purporting to sell Canada Goose jackets have been registered since around September 2013.

The sites, which claim to offer discounts of up to 70% on cold weather outwear, are being promoted on Facebook. One of the scam posts spotted by experts targets users from Finland.

The website that internauts are lured to is highly suspicious. First of all, it’s not an official Canada Goose retailer.

Furthermore, the site has been registered in China and it has only 1-year validity. Those who want to purchase products from the website are instructed to provide their personal information, but no encryption is used to make sure the data is secured.

Finally, the discounts they’re offering sound too good to be true. And you know what they say about offers on the Internet: if they sound too good to be true, they usually are.

If you want to buy some winter clothing online, make sure you only do it from trusted retailers.
