Good news is coming towards those in need of an application traffic monitoring tool with the release of the third beta of NetLimiter. Don't stress yourselves too much about the beta label because this issue of NetLimiter is rock steady, with all major bugs being fixed.
Users of 64- and 32-bit systems will be able to enjoy the traffic restrictions imposed by the application as this covers them both. Starting this edition NetLimiter is fully compatible with all Windows systems, from Windows 2000 to Windows 7 (64-bit editions included).
As our review points out, the program is stable, the only reason it is still in beta being that more features have to be added. Once it reaches the final stage of development for this version NetLimiter will feature the plugin for statistics, advanced TCP/IP testing tools (among these there is packet loss and latency simulation), IPv6 support, Internet traffic priorities as well as import/export function of settings and statistics.
Nobody wants to be confined in any way when it comes to connecting to the Internet, but in some cases you'll just have to limit the traffic of one application to favor another one's. Here's where NetLimiter comes in. It lets you impose per-program download/upload speed limitations with no real effort at all. Besides letting you shape the bandwidth yourself, the application sports a basic firewall that affects both inbound and outbound connections.
Though not yet the final release, NetLimiter is stable enough to be used on any sort of computers. Should glitches occur you can drop feedback in the email provided on the beta page of the program. You can download it from this Softpedia link and test it freely until October 1st.
