From a recent study we find out that users are starting to change their behavior to avoid getting the computers infected with worms, viruses or spyware.

Pew Internet and American Life Project have announced that the majority of Internet surfers have started to take measures against getting their systems infected by opening dubious attachments or by visiting unknown Web addresses, which installed applications to monitor the online activity of the user.

Almost half of the of the respondents said they don't trust anymore accessing every web site they've heard about from an unreliable source, and 25% of them said that they have stopped downloading from peer-to-peer networks due to the risk of getting infected with spyware.

Another measure taken by more and more users to avoid spyware is the adoption of a safer browser, which offers better protection against the theft of personal information.

From the participants to this poll, 68% said they feel the effects of spyware by a decrease in their systems' efficiency.
