The browser doesn't seem to be too stable at the moment

As many of you might already know, the newest version of the Internet Explorer Mobile was expected to come around as soon as the Palm Treo Pro became available on Sprint's airwaves. And, since that day has come and the much-anticipated Windows Mobile-based mobile device is already live with the carrier, IE Mobile 6 is also here.

Unlike previous versions of the browser, IE Mobile 6 is reportedly based on the desktop version of the application, which should provide it with a lot of power compared to other solutions, while also being expected to provide users with an enhanced Internet browsing experience.

The guys over at MobileBurn got their hands on a Treo Pro from Sprint and had the chance to take a look at the new browser for the operating system. The capabilities of the application seem to have been leveraged a lot, they say, as, for instance, the IE Mobile 6 comes with native support for flash, which allows it to easily display video pages on YouTube. At the same time, the browser is also able to render pages the same as its desktop counterpart would do.

For what it's worth, it seems that the new features of the browser also require a nice amount of computing power, and it faces some difficulties here. Treo Pro comes with a 528MHz CPU, yet the browser looks like it would need a processor a little more powerful to run smoothly.

For the time being, the IE Mobile 6 that is available with Treo Pro might not actually be as stable as one would expect. Future handsets that will come with the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system are expected to have the browser packed with some feature enhancements, and that version might also be significantly improved over the currently available one.

Take a look at the videos below that the guys from MobileBurn have put together for us, just to see how Internet Explorer Mobile 6 presents itself at the moment.
