It can handle capacities of up to 4 TB and a thickness of 9.5 mm

If you happen to own a 2.5-inch SATA storage drive of some sort but can't use it in your PC for some reason, you may as well squeeze some use from it by adapting it to work on another interface.

That's what the Inter-Tech SinanPower GD25621-S3 drive enclosure is for: to take a SATA drive and allow it to communicate with any PC over the Universal Serial Bus 3.0 connection (USB 3.0).

There are some limits though. For one thing, only 2.5-inch drives are supported, which kind of limits the options mostly to SSDs, since most HDDs are 3.5-inch units.

Another limit is in the thickness: drives can't be of over 9.5 mm in “height.” Fortunately, many 2.5-inch units, SSDs especially, are 5 mm thick on average, so that won't be such a big problem.

The top capacity supported by the Inter-Tech GD25621-S3 is 4TB, but the HDDs capable of storing that much in so little space are few and far between (and unlikely to be used externally anyway, since they have little competition inside a computer).

All in all, the Inter-Tech SinanPower GD25621-S3 drive case measures 130 x 78 x 13 mm / 5.11 x 3.07 x 0.51 inches. The price, sadly, is unknown.
