Purple is the star color of this winter, no doubt about that. Therefore, Intempo couldn't have chosen a better color version for its latest DAB radio line.

The devices come hidden in glossy resistant plastic casings. Dubbed TRS, the new slimline series is simple to use, it can automatically tune and search for your favorite station name and features 20 pre-set stations, 10DAB and 10FM.

Besides listening to the integrated speakers system, private listening is also possible via the built-in 3.5mm line in. The DAB radio can be recharged using both mains and batteries sources. When it comes to its size, the device measures 20 cm x 4cm x 10 cm, which practically means it can be placed just about anywhere you want. The new DAB radio is described as compact and stylish. Being among the items of the slimline series, the device sports a lightweight 40 grams, just as my TV's remote controller.

There is also an LCD panel, which should display the time and the radio stations. Probably some battery status also. Sadly, there is no extra functionality on it, so no MP3 player or iPod Dock. No nothing! But, hey, it wakes you up on your favorite radio DJ's sexy voice.

Intempo is known for excellent, keenly priced DABs, which often feature integrated large displays, CD players or other extra options. The main attraction of these devices is to be found in the beautiful retro-designed features.

If you're wondering about the pricing and availability details, the TRS model retails online at 39.00 pounds and the available colors are violet, claret, deep blue, black and silver. The silver TRS DAB device is exclusive to John Lewis and the deep blue is available exclusively from Currys.digital and Dixons.
