IntelliOne Technologies, the traffic information company that measures roadway speeds by instantly analyzing mobile phone network usage, will unveil its state-of-the-art traffic monitoring technology, during a two-week road test in Tampa.

The Need4Speed road test will take place in August 7-18 in and around Tampa. The project test will focus on all three main types of roadways: freeways, highways and city streets.

IntelliOne's technology converts ordinary mobile phone network data into speed and travel time information on all roadways with cell phone coverage. The technology is accurate within three miles per hour and is updated once every second. As a result, drivers may be routed in real-time around traffic bottlenecks as they occur.

"We are excited to unveil IntelliOne's groundbreaking technology to the world and prove that having access to live speed information for almost every road can save drivers precious time, money and fuel," says IntelliOne CEO Ronald Herman. "Most traffic reports today can be as much as 20 minutes old. With live speed and travel times, you always have the best information and the best chance of getting to your destination on time and with the least amount of traffic stress."

IntelliOne developed its proprietary, patented Roadway Speed Measurement System based on the fact that wireless devices in motion communicate constantly with multiple cell towers, generating reports used by wireless carriers to maintain and optimize their networks. The IntelliOne data results in "as-it-happens traffic reporting," greatly surpassing current collection methods such as in-road detectors, cameras and helicopters.

The Company's invention is also expected to provide much-needed value to public safety agencies and trucking and delivery fleets. In the event of a disaster, the system can help ensure smooth evacuations and provide emergency vehicles with the fastest route possible in and out of an affected area. Additionally, groups of people who are in need of evacuation assistance may be instantly identified by the system. For commercial vehicle operators, live speed information enables drivers to circumnavigate clogged roads, enabling on-time deliveries and providing maximum fuel efficiency.
