Maybe solid state drives really are getting cheaper

Intel is determined to push forward with its solid state drive business, and the prices of its upcoming models may be just the sort of leverage it needs.

We aren't sure this isn't a case of mistyped numbers, but the listings have been up for a while, so someone would have probably noticed by now if that was the case.

Basically, a 120 GB Intel SSD has been listed on SabrePC for just $149.00 (112 Euro).

In a similar manner, Amazon UK set up a listing of the product with a tag of £109.05.

Meanwhile, the 60 GB version is priced at $89 and the 180 GB one at $234.

That's about 67 Euro and 176 Euro, respectively.

All solid state drives use the SATA 6.0 Gbps interface (SATA III) and transfer data at 500 MB/s read and 450 MB/s write speeds. Deliveries will start on April 13.
