The future of powering up your mobile device might lie in a bowl. Intel has showed off at CES a wireless “charging bowl” designed to work with tablets and smartphone, that uses magnetic resonance technology to fuel up gadgets.

The device is currently in experimental stages and Intel allowed us to take a sneak peak by putting on display some slides.

The concoction is around 10 inches/ 25 cm in diameter, which means tablets and smartphones can be comfortably fitted in, says V3. The bowl also comes with a built-in stand.

“Simply drop the smart headset into the smart wireless charging bowl and it will begin to recharge,” explained Intel.

It sounds so easy that even a baby could do it.

Intel’s little invention is based on an industry-wide standard for wireless charging technology, named Rezence, which was developed by the Alliance for Wireless Power Consumption and also includes Samsung and Qualcomm.
