Starting the fourth quarter of this year, chip manufacturer Intel will restart the production of the entry level 856GV chipset. The company has observed a huge demand from the market and, because of that, it will delay the production of the 975x chipset until the first quarter of 2006, according to DigiTimes.

Earlier this month, the motherboard maker began receiving the 975X chipset from Intel. This move will try o attack the recent expansion of AMD. Also, Gigabyte has stated that its GA-G1975X motherboard, which is a high end one, will be launched in November.

Beginning the 1st of July 2006, EU will launch the restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS). And the 8565GV chipset that Intel will produce again, will respect these requirements. Furthermore, Intel is trying to fasten the migration to DDR2 memory and will launch on the market the 945 chipsets starting the fourth quarter.

Recent rumors say that Wal-Mart will sell AMD powered notebooks and desktop PC's at a stunning 398 USD price.

This move will probably help AMD to strengthen its position in the USA retail market, the company also overtaking Intel for the first time by 1.35, in October.
