It seems that the Conroe will be finally available on the British market, as the editors from the famous The Inquirer said. "The Core 2 Duo for desktops was scheduled to launch first on July 23rd, then pushed back to July 27th, now the launch has been brought forward. The NDA expiry for the Core 2 Duo platform is set at July 14th," it is written on the web site.

Furthermore, the chip will be released in the same time with the so expected 3D version of the movie 'Superman Returns'. Inquirer's sources said that there will be two commercials before the movie starts - one for Spider-Man 3 and the other for Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe, the desktop dedicated processor.

At the end of last month, we suddenly discovered that Overclockers.co.uk web site is already taking pre-orders for Intel's processor - the Core 2 DUO E6xxx (Conroe) - which runs at 1066FSB.

"Intel's Conroe design makes their older Pentium chips look very, very ordinary. As far as gaming performance goes, Intel is looking very strong and as we have predicated and Intel told many people at the Computex show throughout the week, Intel is looking like they will be the gamer CPU of choice in the remainder 2006 and all of 2007," it was written on Overclockers web site.

"If you crave the absolute quickest CPU for your PC there is nothing faster than Intel latest Conroe processors, be prepared as you will be amazed. The E6xxx series offer great value for money and are a favorite choice amongst overclockers with reports of overclocks well over 3.2GHz already achieved with just basic air cooling. Intel is set to take back the performance crown for 2006 and 2007 again!"
