Intel appears to want to extend its reach across brand vendor’s borders

Earlier today we reported that white box vendor Ramos had just launched an 8-inch tablet packing an Intel Atom Z2480 dual-core processor.

This is an interesting fact in itself, as it appeared Intel has started pushing its chips to cheap tablet producers located in China to increase its business.

Now a report coming out of DigiTimes confirms that Intel has been advertising its processors to both Android and Windows 8 white-box tablet vendors. Subsequently, through cooperation with Intel, ODM Pegatron has managed to receive orders from white box players.

Pegatron is well known for being in charge of production for popular devices such as the PlayStation 4 and the iPad mini with Retina Display, and the extra orders will only help its Q4 2013 and Q1 2014 business bloom.
