It isn't every day that Intel releases a new CPU, but when it does launch something, it usually releases more than one thing.

Based on what Digitimes has just reported, it is fairly safe to assume that Chipzilla is trying to do something similar for SSDs.

If what the report says is true, Intel will release, around the middle of May 2013, the DC P2950 series SSD for data centers and the Pro 1500 SSD series for enterprises.

The former is made of 25nm SLC chips (single-level cell). Its exact capacities were not disclosed.

The Pro 1500, on the other hand, will be made of 20nm MLC chips (multi-level cell) and will have 80 GB, 180 GB, 240 GB and 350 GB versions. A 480 GB drive is set for Q3.

A 480 GB will join the 530 series in the third quarter as well.
