It is a common tactic for hardware makers to praise their new devices as best they can in their press releases, but there is little doubt that end-users are more likely to be impressed when they hear that a top-tier company like Intel approves of a certain product. Eager to waste no time showing off the quality of its RAM, Kingston has revealed that a number of HyperX memory products have been certified by the Santa Clara-based chip maker.

One of the products is the KHX2400C9D3T1K2/4GX dual-channel DDR3 kit. This is made up of a pair of 2GB modules that consume 1.56 V and work at 2,400 MHz and timings of 9-11-9-27-2. This means that, to this day, this product is the fastest XMP-certified memory. The DDR3 is designed for the Intel Core i7 platform and will best serve gamers, benchmarkers and enthusiasts. In fact, according to the company, the kit was tested on a number of P55-based systems, including a configuration based on the GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4P motherboard.

The second set of devices that Intel has certified are three Kingston ValueRAM DDR3L registered DIMMs. These are intended for use with Westmere-EP server processors and, while using only 1.35 V (low voltage DDR3), they reach frequencies of 1,333 MHz and CL9. The actual modules are a 1GB Single Rank x8, a 2GB Single rank x4 and a 2GB Dual Rank x8.

"Intel worked closely with Kingston in developing and certifying their low-voltage DDR3L memory for our upcoming Westmere-EP triple-channel server platform," said Geof Findlay, Memory Ecosystem Manager, Intel. "Kingston's low voltage server memory combined with Intel's 32nm processor utilizing the Westmere architecture will help datacenters increase performance while reducing overall energy costs."

The Lynnfield-aimed HyperX KHX2400C9D3T1K2/4GX will show up during the second quarter and will have a lifetime warranty, whereas the three ValueRAM DDR3L modules come with a three-year warranty. Prices are still unknown.
