Santa Clara, California-based Intel, the world's leading chip maker, has just announced the introduction of its new family of Core processors, which the company plans to launch at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 7, 2010. The new processors include the company's next-generation 32nm High-K/metal gate manufacturing process and a number of new mobile parts that will feature 32nm core with 45nm integrated GPUs, on a single chip. The chip maker further revealed plans to launch new products related to 3D content creation, WiMAX, MIDs and more.

As expected, the new CPU cores are based on the highly-anticipated 'Westmere' generation of processors, which the company has been promoting for a while now. In addition, one of the main features of the company's new line of processors is the integrated 45nm-based graphics processors, which Intel claims to provide a noteworthy performance boost, compared to previous Intel integrated graphics. As a matter of fact, the new Intel HD Graphics chip is said to be capable of decoding two HD streams in hardware, a step up from previous solutions, which were capable of decoding one stream in hardware and one in software, putting more pressure on the CPU.

While no specific details are being made available regarding processor models, core frequencies and other technical specifications, Intel is also bound to reveal more about its upcoming Gulftown-based CPUs, which will boast a 6-core architecture and will be made available in both desktop and server variants. However, the company's main focus will be on the new CPU+GPU integrated solutions, like Arrandale or Pineview, both being designed for the mobile space.

CES is just a few weeks away from its official debut and, by the looks of it, some system vendors have already finished designing their new PCs based on Intel's upcoming line of 32nm-based processors. There's a short video, at the end of this article, of what to expect from CES, as far as Intel is concerned, that the company made available along with the announcement of its new products.
