Application uses famous quotations or motivational phrases to inspire your work

Inspire Me is an application that uses a database of phrases which users can store and organize by topic, to be displayed in an overlay window, a transparent panel, or as a widget on the user's desktop. Famous quotations or motivational phrases are regularly added to the official website, while users can easily grab each one of them and have them displayed at regular intervals ranging from every ten minutes to once per day.

The app's purpose might not be understood by some, but once you fire it up you'll surely find yourself in an "ocean" of inspiration.

You see, hadn't the app displayed this quote of Arthur S. Eddington, I would have probably used my "limited" vocabulary to say "a lot" of inspiration. Adding that the built-in web interface allows users to download additional collections of phrases free of charge from within the application, no one will ever tell that you haven't actually read a book in your entire life. You could simply put all these phrases together in a nice way and write a paper about life, win the Nobel prize and everything. OK, enough kidding around, let's see what else this app can do.

Inspire Me stores, but also manages text phrases. It can display phrases, changing them throughout the day, on the desktop, in a floating window, or using Growl, while additional phrase collections can be downloaded right from within the application. You can configure a collection to display a phrase as often as you like, but also grab the selected text from any application to add a new phrase.

Using the customizable, system-wide keyboard shortcuts is a breeze, and quite useful too. This allows you to hide, redisplay, and edit recently displayed phrases while working in any other application. The application also lets its user import and export phrases from/to simple text files.

Mere Mortal Software is offering an introductory price for the app ($12.95), which means it'll cost more in the future, but also a 10-day trial version of the software - all the features are there but you won't be able to add any new records until you purchase a license.
