The Water Wall harvests solar energy, ups the temperature of the liquid inside it

Those worried about how much energy is burned whenever they feel like taking one really hot shower could one day put their mind at ease by purchasing an aquarium-like wall that doubles as a water heater.

The Water Wall, pictured above, is designed by Shi Qiang and Liu Zhong Liang for TOOUT Industrial Design, Trend Hunter tells us.

It pretty much looks like you average window, except that water is trapped in between the glass panes. A special coating on the surface of these panes lets the wall harvest solar energy, and then use it to warm the water inside it.

Once it reaches a certain temperature, the water is directed either to the faucet in one's bathroom, or to the shower.

What's more, the Water Wall is transparent, so odds are the people who choose to build it into an already existing window in their bathroom will also save some money on lighting.
