Now this is the new stuff. Coming straight from the secret Energy System labs, their brand new science fiction-flavored portable media player comes packed with a unique design line, which kind of brings a breath of fresh air in the electronics industry.

In fact the Inngenio designs are quite catchy, given the fact that most of the manufacturers on the market are constantly re-branding devices, in sadistic attempts to anticipate the interest of the mass consumers.

Inngenio 5500 is definitely the best item Energy System could come up with, after some intense research about what consumers really want. Well, they really want a cool 3.2-inch screen in QVGA formats, as well as the possibility to navigate a simple and yet intuitive menu, using the buttons placed on the side of the device.

However, there's nothing cool or fancy about the player at all, as it doesn't reveal any touchscreen or GPS option added to the whole recipe. Still, the design line is based on simplicity. It comes in pitch-black casing, which means it will be perfect for both sporty and classy people.

When it comes to the portable media player's capabilities, it can deal with lots of file formats on the market, such as MP3, WMA, WAV audio files, as well as JPG, BMP for the photo capabilities. Besides that, the player can double as an e-book reader, reading TXT files. File transfer is possible via the latest USB 2.0 interface.

Extra specs list mentions something about other cool features like an integrated FM tuner, an SD slot for an extra memory boost, if the 4GB prove to be insufficient.

It's a sure thing this baby ain't any crappy device like some China ones I saw. Sadly, Inngenio was not priced yet, but it should be somewhere between cheap and pricey.
