fireCore, the company that jailbreaks the Apple TV and sells a supercharger to go with it, has released an update to its more orthodox product called Infuse. Version 2.0 is now available as a free download for everyone.

Infuse 2 has been completely redesigned to match iOS 7 and adds “some awesome features you’ll love,” according to fireCore.

As you’d expect, the redesign includes flatter graphics, simpler buttons and menus, and an overall cleaner layout.

“Designed for iOS 7 – We’ve taken the best parts of Infuse, and reimagined them for iOS 7. The result is a beautiful, lightweight interface that lets your content do the talking,” says the company.

Infuse 2 is the first version of the media application to include Network Streaming, a feature that allows anyone to “stream videos from almost any device without having to sync.” The feature is AirPlay-supported, and offers subtitles and trakt compatibility.

“Connect Infuse to trakt.tv to ‘scrobble’ plays, submit ratings, and post comments,” says fireCore.

The standard formats are supported, including MP4, M4V, and MOV, as well as MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV, OGM, OGV, ASF, 3GP, DVR-MS, WebM, and WTV. Files with Dolby Digital Plus (AC3 and E-AC3) audio are also supported.

Pro customers, who’ve purchased an Infuse license, will get new premium features for free, this time around.

According to fireCore’s announcement, “A new premium option for those looking to get the most out of their videos. As a way of saying thanks, Infuse Pro is a FREE upgrade for those who purchased Infuse 1.5 or earlier.”

The company encourages all users, young and old, to share their impressions about this update, as well as provide feedback with any suggestions they might have regarding future updates (fixes, tweaks, new features). Download Infuse 2 for iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, and enjoy!
