Mobistealth has published an infographic to detail the capabilities and the evolution of Koobface, the notorious cross-platform malware that’s been making the rounds since 2009.

According to a recent McAfee report, Koobface infections have decreased considerably since January 2012, when Facebook intervened. However, the threat made a lot of headlines back in the day, particularly because of its ability to target both Mac and Windows machines.

The infographic from Mobistealth shows the pieces of software targeted by Koobface, its geographical distribution, aliases, and the large amounts of money made by cybercriminals with the aid of the worm.

In addition to details on Koobface, Mobistealth also provides a list of other cross-platform threats, along with advice on how to protect computers against such malware.
