Everybody playing in some sort of band knows how hard it is to constantly carry your gear wherever you might happen to have a gig. Guitars and guitar amps, drum hardware, the bass guitar and some effects, they can easily fill your van (if you have one). Moreover, when you think you are ready to go, you might just look around and learn that there is one more thing you simply cannot pack, namely the keyboard, or in worse cases, the keyboards. Some 4-letter words and after that re-arranging the gear starts. Well, it looks like the dawn of a new era for the traveling keyboardist is breaking simultaneously with the launch of the VAX77 fold&carry keyboard from Infinite Response.

You don't have to play industrial metal to like the awesome design of this product – a keyboard that can be “broken” in two is one cool sight for anyone, and if we're thinking about traveling, this one will surely be the most comfortable and easy to carry.

Like no other keyboard before it, the Infinite Response VAX77 is easy to “break” in two halves – just unscrew the security pins, retract the levers, and you can easily fold it in two, dramatically reducing the space it occupies and making carrying a lesser pain in the back. The folded Infinite Response VAX77 can be easily loaded in its own trolley bag, which will defend the keyboard against shocks and dust, while at the same time offer a more comfortable carrying solution thanks to the two wheels and extensible handle.

On the tech side, the Infinite Response VAX77 is a full-scale 77-key board, loaded with a lot of the features you'd normally expect from any serious keyboard, including MIDI, USB connectivity, a very generous number of buttons and knobs letting you trim your sound according to your wishes. Even more, you can have the gadget connected to an external FX/synth rack or a computer and control the parameters in specific applications. At the same time, you can edit your menus and FX offline and load them into the keyboard via USB.

You get the usual pitch bend and modulation controllers, along with an increased number of velocity steps, that is 16,000 instead of 127 precision-weighted keys and innumerable customization options to transform the Infinite Response VAX77 in the tool of your dreams. Furthermore, if we add the color schemes available, you'll surely get the new meaning of “modern gear.” The product comes in black, blood red, bright yellow, ocean blue, and midnight blue, so you can match it with the rest of your bandmates' gear. There is no word on price yet, but the oncoming NAMM in January will surely shed some light on the Infinite Response VAX77. Details here.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
