Developer Turbine and publisher Warner Bros. have finally decided to release the Infinite Crisis multiplayer online battle arena game, after spending more than one year in beta.

The game has been in the works since 2011, and Turbine launched it into beta in 2013, seeing massive popularity, due mainly to the fact that you get to play as a bunch of DC Comics superheroes.

The MOBA genre is getting increasingly crowded, and it's not like there's much room to go around. Electronic Arts canceled its very own entry in the genre and others are trying to carve a new niche by putting a spin on the base gameplay premise.

Blizzard relies on the hugely popular Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft universes, as well as on focusing on hero combat rather than creep farming in Heroes of the Storm, while Hi-Rez Studios offers you the chance to play as a god from one of man's pantheons, and to rain death upon your enemies from a third-person perspective that puts you directly in control of the movements and spells.

A fresh MOBA with a wealth of popular champions to choose from

Infinite Crisis banks on decades of popular culture notoriety, pitting two squads of villains and heroes against each other. Not only that, but Turbine's game has also evolved a great deal over the course of the past year, with the company taking the players' feedback into account and crafting a pretty good experience.

Now, the company feels confident that Infinite Crisis is ready for launch, with a slew of improvements and incentives for players, such as daily log-in rewards and costume hand-outs, but also numerous technical fixes and some matchmaking improvements.

Furthermore, a new hero is joining the fray, in the form of Tatsy Yamashiro, better known by her fans as Katana, wielding her Soultaker sword with deadly proficiency.

Infinite Crisis is coming out on March 26, headed to the Windows PC platform, as a free-to-play title supported by in-game microtransactions. If you want to learn more, you can register on the game's official website.
