Infamous: Second Son, the upcoming PS4 open world superhero game from Sucker Punch, has quite a few new improvements over previous games in the series, like smarter AI-controlled foes, but also more fluid animations.

Infamous: Second Son is one of the biggest upcoming PS4 exclusive titles set to debut in the following months.

Developer Sucker Punch has already showcased the game through different screenshots, videos, and other materials in the last few months, and now producer Brian Fleming has talked a bit about the AI system and how enemies will have more varied behavior than in previous games.

"The whole system was rewritten after Infamous 2," Fleming told Edge. "It was an enormous undertaking and made the first year of the project kind of a pain, because the enemies were behaving very badly. But we’re finally over that hump and now we’re spending time polishing and improving those encounters and giving enemies more specific things to do."

"We spent a lot of time watching people playing the game, learning how the AI can be improved. It’s not one quantum improvement, it’s [lots of] little improvements, and they all add up to the combat being a marked improvement over our previous games."

What's more, Fleming has also emphasized that the more fluid animations are a result of special teams made out of artists and programmers.

"The team that has worked on that is a combination of tech and art," he added. "Our artists needed to become more technical and the technologists really needed to understand the art better for even little things like how people turn themselves."

Infamous: Second Son is set to launch this March for the PlayStation 4 console from Sony and you can expect to learn quite a bit about the new title until then, including new things about its protagonist, Delsin Rowe, and his story.
