At E3 2014, Sony and Sucker Punch Productions revealed the first details about Infamous: First Light, the standalone expansion to Infamous: Second Son, which focuses on one of the secondary characters, Abigail "Fetch" Walker, and is set to debut this August on PS4.

Infamous: Second Son came out this spring and delivered a great open world action adventure experience that focused on Delsin Rowe, a super-powered Conduit who could absorb all sorts of crazy powers from fellow individuals. During this journey, he meets up with Abigail "Fetch" Walker, who gives him the ability to control neon.

Now, Sucker Punch has decided to focus on Fetch in the form of a standalone expansion called Infamous: First Light, which chronicles her journey up to the events in Second Son.

Sucker Punch's Jason Connell has talked a bit on the PS blog about the new adventure coming to the PS4 and how Fetch will be able to use a customized array of neon powers, as opposed to the ones wielded by Delsin Rowe in Second Son.

"Fetch is back and her story is not an easy one to tell. There is heartache, drug abuse and abandonment. Playing as Fetch, you’ll experience the events that transform her into the conduit you met in Second Son," he said.

"You’ll see her cope with life in Curdun Cay (the high alpine prison) after being captured by the DUP, and experience what happens when her brother Brent goes missing – and how far she will go to find him."

Curdun Cay is one of the all-new environments in First Light, but Fetch will also spend time in Seattle, according to the studio. The new expansion will develop Fetch as a character but also the technologies used by Sucker Punch to render weather effects and lighting.

The Photo Mode, which was patched into Second Son after launch, will be standard in First Light, meaning that players can stop time and capture epic scenes from the new expansion.

While Infamous: First Light is available as a standalone expansion, meaning that anyone can get it, even if they don't own Second Son, there will be special exclusive content for those who have the full-fledged game, and afterwards, special bonus things are also coming to those who have both Second Son and First Light.

The new super-powered experience is set to debut for the PlayStation 4 as a digital experience in August, so expect to hear more at that time.
